When you study the four gospels, study the comments I made to people who were criticizing and judging Me. The comments I made were never to try to justify Myself or excuse My behavior. I only spoke the truth in response to those who disagreed with Me.
Even when I did rebuke the Pharisees, My motive was love. My hope was that those who accused Me of doing works of Satan instead of the works of God would repent when I confronted them with the truth. You will see in My Word that some of the pharisees did repent.
Paul was present at the stoning of Stephen, and Stephen spoke these words just before he died: "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge." That comment opened the way for Paul to hear My voice on the Damascus Road. When you encounter people who accuse you, criticize you, and even mock you, speak the truth in love to such people. Speaking the truth in love to your adversaries will give My Holy Spirit the opportunity to deliver repentance to their hearts.
