You will see in My Word that people who tried to justify themselves after their sins were uncovered did not do well. When Samuel uncovered the fact that Saul had not fully obeyed the Lord by wiping out all the Amalekites, Saul tried to justify himself by saying that he had obeyed the Lord.
Samuel then rejected Saul as king of Israel. David's sin with Bathsheba was uncovered by Nathan the prophet. However, David repented.
Whenever sin is uncovered in your life, never try to justify yourself. Simply repent. I have promised that if you confess your sins, I will always be faithful and just to forgive you of your sins. Your confession will also open the door for Me to cleanse you of that sin.
