When evening comes and all of your labor is finished, I know how you love to just sit and relax for at least two hours after dinner. Most people are in this mode of operation. There is something, however, that I want you to do before you get in your comfortable position.
I cause the evenings and the mornings to rejoice. I would love to hear your songs of praise as you join with the birds who sing the loudest at sunrise and sunset. I do cause the evenings and the mornings to rejoice.
This week, join the symphony of praise as the sun goes down. I guarantee that when you do this, your evening will be joyful because in My presence is fullness of joy.

GAIN
The word "gain" can have both a good and a bad connotation. Very few people want to gain weight.
Even fewer want to gain trouble by continually making wrong decisions. The gain that I want you to meditate on today is what I said in My Word about gain.
"Foe what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?". Many want to gain riches, power, and recognition in this world, but I desire for everyone to gain what is eternal. People who build bigger barns and hoard material things will lose them all when they die.
Pray for those today who you know are seeking to gain only what this world has to offer. Pray that they will recognize that worldly gain is only temporary. Pray that such people will realize that all that they have gained will be lost unless they gain My eternal gift of the salvation that I offer them.
My servant Paul wrote: "For to me to live is Christ, and to die gain."

PROGRESS
I know that you desire to make progress in your walk with Me. I hear your prayer morning after morning to be more like Me. Do not struggle to make progress. Conforming you to My image is the work of My Holy Spirit.
This week I do not want you to be goal oriented. Instead, I want you just to relax and enjoy My presence. It is when you spend time in My presence that My Holy Spirit is able to infuse My love into your heart.
Simply thank Me daily for the Holy Spirit's work that is taking place in your heart. Lift your heart up to My Spirit and wait in My presence. I want to minister to you in the quiet moments of the morning. As you know, most physical surgeries are scheduled for early morning. My Spirit can use My Word as a skillful surgeon's knife to cut away your flesh that stands in the way of your spiritual progress.

HABIT
It usually only takes three weeks to break a bad habit. You found that out when you were trying to take the pacifiers from your three sons when they were infants. However, it is more difficult for adults to break bad habits.
Bad habits often form patterns of thinking called strongholds in your mind. Those strongholds supply My enemy with space in your mind for you to receive his tempting thoughts. It is true that My enemy cannot read your mind. However, his seducing spirits watch your actions and hear your conversations. This is the way he can see the weak areas in your soul (mind, will, and emotions)..
My Word describes exactly how you can break strongholds in your life that have caused you to form habits that do not glorify Me. You are to take captive every negative and tempting thought that comes to your mind, and give those thoughts to Me. Then I will be able to do battle to help you overcome those habits that you desire to abolish forever.

CHOICE
So many ask the question, "How can a loving God allow such horrible things to happen on Earth?"
The answer to that question is simple. My Father gave everyone born on Earth a free will. He chose to allow His Kingdom to come on Earth through the prayers of those who believe in Me.
I died and became the perfect sacrifice to reconcile those who believe in Me to My Father in heaven. When I died on the tree, the sins of the world were laid upon Me, and those who believe in Me and repent of their sins can be translated from the kingdom to darkness into My kingdom of light.
I light every person who comes into this world, but I have given them the right to choose to live in darkness or to be translated to My Kingdom of light. Pray for those today who are still controlled by their self-will and therefore have chosen to live in darkness.

LESSONS
My Holy Spirit is your teacher. You have had many teachers over the years, but none of them could convey to you the Words of Life like My Spirit can. He can lead you in the truths that will change your life.
Your Bible is the manual for living, and there are lessons to learn on almost every page of My Word.
My Spirit has the assignment to take the things that I taught while I walked on Earth and convey them to you in a way that you will understand.
You can receive much knowledge simply by reading My Word, but as you ask for My Spirit's help to understand My Word, you will be able to apply the lessons you learn to your life. You will be able to walk in the wisdom that is from above. Wisdom is applied knowledge. Always ask for My Spirit to help you to not only receive these lessons of truth, but also to daily live the truths found in My Word.

SCHEDULE
When I walked on Earth, I did not have a schedule. I simply stayed in communication with My Father Who led Me by the Spirit. I know that you live in a much more complicated world than I did when I walked along the shores of the Galilee, but you can be led by the Spirit as I was led.
It is prudent to make plans and to have schedules, but always be open to being led by My Holy Spirit. In order to hear His quiet voice within, you have to tune out the sounds of the world. I know this seems impossible, but quietly trust My Spirit to tell you the next thing to do.
Give your day and yourself to Me every morning and then ask My Spirit to help you not to miss any divine appointments that day. Pray to be in the right place at the right time. This may mean that your schedule has to be laid temporarily aside, but fruitfulness in My kingdom comes only when you are on My schedule.
