SOMMER FAMILY BLESSING

Welcome to the blog for Linda Sommer.

My Blog will cover three subjects:

WORD FROM THE LORD, FAMILY, and MINISTRY.

WORD FROM THE LORD
Every day I spend time with the Lord in the morning and He speaks to my heart words that are encouraging, exhorting and sometimes rebuking.

At first, I felt not to share these words with others, but then I realized I am just one of His followers. There are many people who need a word daily from the Lord, but they do not have the time to seek Him. This is why I decided to share the words I received from time to time. The messages are in first person as the the Lord relayed them to my spirtual ears.

FAMILY
We have three sons and nine grandchildren. There is something new happening all the time in the Sommer family. I will post some of these events of interest.

MINISTRY
Tom and I have traveled the world. To find out more about our ministry you may consult our webpage -
http://www.voiceofthesword.com/.
I will keep you updated on future speaking enagements and ministry developments.

ALLOW

I allowed My disciples to be entrusted to carry the gospel of the kingdom of God to the whole world.  They began in Jerusalem and then went to Samaria and finally to the uttermost parts of the world.

There are still places on earth where they have never heard the gospel.  I preached the gospel of the kingdom of God which was simply, "Repent and be reconciled to God."

Now, you can share with others the good news that I have finished the work of reconciliation that God sent me to do. Now, the message of the gospel is repent of your sins and believe that I am their Savior.

DEER

Deer have very strong hind feet. Just after David was delivered out of the hands of his enemies and Saul,  he wrote this: "He makes my feet like hinds feet and sets me upon my high places (Psalm 22:34).

David declared in this psalm that I gave him strength and power, and that I made his way perfect.  David  trusted Me to deliver him, and he shared one testimony after another when I did deliver him.

I want you always to trust Me to deliver you.  You may have doubts when you are experiencing difficult circumstances, but I will walk with you through those circumstances and set you on a high place.

CREATE

David was a man after My heart because he was humble enough to receive the corrective prophecy of Naaman who told him a parable that convicted David's heart.

David repented of his sin of murder and adultery, and then he cried out to Me and wrote a  prayer that I will always answer.  David had a contrite heart, and I do not despise a contrite heart.

David wrote: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. David knew that only I  had the power to cleanse him and give him a new heart. Pray to always have a contrite heart.

LISTEN

I am always speaking, but so few take time to listen to Me.  A big part of prayer is listening.  Prayer truly is a two way conversation.

So many who are suffering in this world need someone to listen to them. Part of sharing our burdens with one another is being willing to listen to what is on the hearts of others.

I want to challenge you this week and in the following days to take time in your prayer time to listen for My voice.  I want to speak to you heart to heart and spirit to spirit. Take time everyday to hear My voice.

FEED

I told Peter to feed My sheep.  Many events in Peter's life had to do with food.  Peter saw the miracle of the food that was provided after I blessed it and fed 4,000 and also 5,000.

I prepared a breakfast for My disciples after My resurrection. I told Peter then to feed My sheep and My lambs..

Later Peter wrote: "Feed the flock of God that is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly, not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind." I exhort you to be diligent to feed yourself and others My Word which is your spiritual food.

LOOK

"Look not every man to his own things, but every man also on the things of others (Philippians 2:4)." It is  easy in your life to be so consumed with the things in your own life that you forget to reach out to others.

The things in your life can be the circumstances you are experiencing or even the material things that you have to care for.  The more things you have, the more you have to spend time taking care of them.

I spent My life on earth taking care of the things that were a concern to those I met along my journey around the Galilee.  Today and every day, I challenge you to look for ways that you can help others.

AGE

The psalmist prayed this prayer: "Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails (Psalm 71:9). As you age, you do begin to lose strength, but My joy can strengthen you.

The one who wrote this Psalm knew Me well and he knew that I would never abandon him even in his old age. The author of this psalm wanted to live many more days so that he could praise Me more and more.

He wanted to spread the news of My righteousness and salvation.  He wanted to live as long as he could so that he could continually share the wondrous works that I had done in his life. Let this be your prayer.
